Accounts and organizations

Everyone on Rootsy has a personal account. An organization is an account that several people share. It holds its own computers, domains and plan. When a member leaves, the computers stay with the organization. See Organizations.

Nothing moves between accounts. A computer made in your personal account stays there, so start shared work in the organization.

Invite people in

Invite a member by email from the organization’s settings. They need a Rootsy account first. Sign-up is invitation-only, so someone new writes to support@rootsy.io for access before you invite them. The invitation link works for whoever opens it while signed in, so send it only to that person.

Everyone has full access

Every member can do everything. There are no roles and no read-only members. Any member can delete a computer, cancel the plan or remove another member. Invite only people you’d trust with all of it.

Their AI tools get the same reach. A member’s MCP connection reaches every computer in the organization. See Connect with MCP.

Removing a member ends their dashboard and MCP access at once. A workspace they already had open can keep working for a while.

Computers as work changes

Give each project its own computer. Each one has its own disk. Any member can create one from the dashboard, or from an AI tool over MCP.

A computer sleeps when nobody uses it, so a quiet project spends no Runtime Credits. A computer counts toward the plan while it exists. When a project ends, delete its computer to free its place. See Plans and Runtime Credits.

Creating computers has a rate limit. See Limits.

One plan, one bill

The organization has its own plan and its own bill, separate from your personal account. It needs a plan before anyone can create a computer in it. Billing email goes to one billing contact. Any member can manage the plan. See Organizations.
